Born March 5, 1934, in Valley, Illinois, Nancy Lee Rapp built a life centered around service, family, and friendship. After careers in nursing and aviation, Nancy and her husband, Gerald R. Rapp, retired to Napa, California, where they established Rapp Ranch and became deeply involved in the cutting horse industry through their son, Philip.
A familiar face at competitions across the country, Nancy was known for passionately supporting her family and celebrating the success of others. Her warm spirit and genuine love for the sport made a lasting impact on all who knew her.
“Nancy represented the true spirit of the cutting horse family,” said Jay Winborn, Executive Director of the National Cutting Horse Association. “Her support of the industry and the friendships she built over the years will not be forgotten. We extend our deepest sympathies and prayers to the Rapp family during this difficult time.”
Nancy is survived by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald R. Rapp.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in memory of Nancy Rapp.
