APHA AND NCHA LAUNCH CUTTING HORSE EDUCATION AND JUDGING MODULE ON HORSEIQ

Apr 28, 2026, 09:59 AM by National Cutting Horse Association
NCHA announces a new cutting horse education and judging module on the horseIQ platform in partnership with APHA.

The National Cutting Horse Association (NCHA), in partnership with the American Paint Horse Association (APHA), announces the launch of a new cutting horse education and judging module on the horseIQ platform. This collaboration expands access to cutting-specific educational resources for members, judges, and equine enthusiasts.

horseIQ, APHA’s virtual learning platform, offers a comprehensive range of courses designed to support education across the equine industry. The addition of cutting-specific content introduces discipline-focused instruction that enhances understanding of the sport and its judging standards.

The cutting module provides an in-depth overview of the sport, including how runs are evaluated, scoring methodology, and examples of credit-earning maneuvers. Interactive components such as penalty-based testing and video demonstrations offer practical application of the rulebook, helping participants develop a clearer understanding of what judges evaluate in the show pen.

This partnership strengthens the educational offerings of both organizations and creates a valuable resource for individuals seeking to deepen their knowledge of cutting. The course is available through a full-site subscription to horseIQ.

“This program gives our judges and exhibitors a consistent, accessible way to study the fundamentals of cutting and apply them in real-world scenarios,” said Andy Adams, NCHA Director of Judges. “By combining clear instruction with practical examples, we’re creating a tool that supports accuracy, confidence, and continued growth within the judging community.”

NCHA and APHA encourage members and those interested in the sport of cutting to take advantage of this educational opportunity to further develop their knowledge and skills.
