FORT WORTH – The National Cutting Horse Association (NCHA) is excited to announce Alexis Bylo of Leslie, MO as the 2024 Todd Drummond Award recipient. Bylo will be presented with this award during the Open Semi-Finals of the 2024 NCHA Metallic Cat World Championship Futurity on December 6th at the Will Rogers Coliseum. Tickets for Open Semi-Finals can be found here.

Each National Cutting Horse Association affiliate has the opportunity to nominate one outstanding youth member who will be honored annually with the Todd Drummond Award. The youth member will be recognized for scholastics, extracurricular activities, and cutting horse involvement.

“It’s honestly so incredible, I know there are tons of youth out there that work their butt off. To be picked is an honor,” said Bylo. “I previously played basketball, but now I am homeschooled. I’ve been showing cutting horses for a very long time. I remember when I was 5 years old and I would show my Grandpa Larry’s turnback horse. Just from that, I knew I loved cutting. Now I’m in high school rodeo too.”

“Usually in the morning, I will go feed, then come in and get as much schoolwork as I can do and try to get ahead. Then when Dad gets home from work, we’ll go ride,” said Bylo. “I would definitely like to thank my parents. They are the best and I love how much they love the sport of cutting just like I do.”

“It is an honor to award Alexis Bylo as the Todd Drummond Award recipient. The NCHA and NYCHA encourage youth by fostering sportsmanship, building confidence, and creating lifelong connections in the cutting horse community. We are always proud to recognize and promote one of our youth members for their achievements and attitude in and out of the showpen. Congratulations Alexis,” said Jay Winborn, NCHA Executive Director.
