FORT WORTH – Join the National Cutting Horse Association (NCHA) in congratulating Eli McDonald as the 2024 Rafter P Youth Award recipient.

The Rafter P Youth Award aims to provide financial assistance to a youth member in good standing with the NCHA, enabling them to attend the 2024 Great American Insurance Group Summer Cutting Spectacular and the Holy Cow Performance Horses Youth World Finals. The recipient, McDonald, will be able to compete in the NCHA Foundation Scholarship Cutting if desired.

“The National Youth Cutting Horse Association is incredibly grateful for the support of Rafter P Construction,” stated NCHA Director of Youth, Rianna Storey. “Thanks to their sponsorship, a very deserving youth has the opportunity to attend the world-class 2024 NYCHA Youth World Finals and Convention.”

“Thank you to the NYCHA, Rafter P Construction, and everyone who nominated me,” said McDonald when interviewed. “I am very blessed and thankful to have this opportunity and can’t wait to go to Fort Worth!"

Brad Pryor, President and Founder of Rafter P, explained “Eli McDonald has a lot of people that care about him. Our childhood stories are way too similar but that is not the reason he was picked. Eli was selected because the nominations were from the heart, describing his character.

One of the biggest characteristics that stuck out to me was his work ethic. We need more young men like Eli in this ever changing world we live in. He has not been dealt the best of cards in life, yet he harnesses the GRIT I look for in a person. He never quits.

This is why Eli is the 2024 Rafter P Youth Award winner!! I am looking forward to meeting him in person.”
