As part of the 2022 Fiscal year review, the NCHA Finance Committee reviewed the fees charged by various banking institutions to process payments for the Association. Fees from credit card transactions, returned checks, wire transfers, ACH as well as e-Check were all examined. The fees related to credit card processing alone were more than $250,000.
Fiscal responsibility is a high priority for the current administration. Every dollar charged by the bank directly reduces the funds available for NCHA programs. In order to maintain program funding, the NCHA Finance Committee recommended to the Executive Committee that the NCHA impose a 3% Non-Refundable Transaction Fee on all payments made to the association. The Executive Committee voted to approve the fee at the 2023 NCHA Convention held June 22 – 24, 2023 in Las Vegas, NV.
Effective July 15, 2023, ALL payments received by NCHA will be assessed a Non-Refundable Transaction Fee of 3%. NCHA will waive the fee if payment is submitted by check, Wire Transfer or ACH/E-check.
Online payments will automatically apply or waive the fee and all printable forms will be updated prior to the July 15 implementation.
NCHA feels this change directly supports its mission of promoting and celebrating the cutting horse and accommodating everyone from the beginner to the advanced cutting competitor.
