Shannon Lawlor Donated a 0ne-Of-A-Kind Experience to Benefit the NYCHA

FORT WORTH – The National Cutting Horse Association would like to thank Shannon Lawlor Fine Art for supporting the National Youth Cutting Horse Association (NYCHA) and its programs through the donation of a custom commission painting that was auctioned off as Lot No. 1 at the 2022 NCHA Western Bloodstock Futurity Sales on December 7, 2022.

Shannon Lawlor graciously donated the experience of a collaborative commission painting, with all the proceeds from its sale benefitting the NYCHA. Additionally, NYCHA members joined in by helping promote the sale through social media, handing out flyers, and carrying an example painting up and down the sale ring as the auction progressed.

“This was my way to pay it forward to the youth,” said Lawlor. “It was a lot of fun for them and me.”

J+ Ranches was the proud purchaser of this one-of-a-kind experience at a total of $13,000. They plan to immortalize their stallion Metallic Clayton through this painting. The stallion was purchased last year at the NCHA Western Bloodstock Futurity Sale, and the ranch has high hopes for this young stallion’s career.

“We’ve always loved Shannon’s work, and when we saw it come up for auction, some of the kids said, ‘hey are y’all going to bid?’ Well, it’s kind of hard to say no to kids, and we love to support them,” said a representative of J+ Ranches.

Lawlor plans to take progress photos as the painting develops to allow the youth members, the proud new owners, and the general public to follow this story through to completion.
