FORT WORTH – The National Cutting Horse Association (NCHA) would like to congratulate Lily Erwin of Evans, Georgia, on being selected as the 2022 recipient of the Todd Drummond Memorial Award.
Each year, NCHA affiliates have the opportunity to nominate one outstanding youth member for this award created in memorial of Todd Drummond. The recipient is recognized for their scholastic achievement, extracurricular activities, and cutting horse involvement.
“We need more role models like Lily in the world today,” said Area 18 President Jeff Fehrman of Erwin. “She has proven integrity, honor, loyalty, passion for this sport, high standards and work ethic and dedication to life. This young lady shows up daily, many mornings before 4:00 AM, and always with a smile, and jumps right into helping with the horses and barn chores. She balances it all beautifully.”
Erwin has been an NYCHA Area Director for three years. She is a member of the Beta club, and she sets high standards for herself to maintain academically. She is active in her church’s youth group, as well as helping her dad work horses. Erwin has a strong work ethic that hasn’t gone unnoticed by many.
“To be nominated for the Todd Drummond Award is a privilege, but to receive the award, is one of the highest honors for an NYCHA member,” said Erwin.
Erwin will be presented with the Todd Drummond Memorial Award buckle during the upcoming 2022 NCHA Metallic Cat World Championship Futurity in Fort Worth, Texas.
