Dual Smart Rey Joins NCHA
Dual Smart Rey Joins NCHA as the Presenting Sponsor of the NCHA World Finals
FORT WORTH – The National Cutting Horse Association is proud to announce Dual Smart Rey as the presenting sponsor of the 2022 NCHA World Finals.
Don and Marty Horton started Strawn Valley Ranch in 1998 with the goal of producing high-quality cutting horses. Using their select broodmare band, led by the great mare The Smart Look, crossed on top stallions in the industry, Strawn Valley Ranch produced many great performers for more than a decade, but the greatest was Dual Smart Rey (Dual Rey X The Smart Look). Not only was Dual Smart Rey a great champion in the show ring, but he has also proven to be a great sire, with his offspring earnings surpassing 11 million dollars in 2022. He has produced champions at all levels in cutting, reining and reined cowhorse, including Rollz Royce, Dual Smart Kitty, Hit Tha Flo and Duals Lucky Charm.
“Dual Smart Rey has continued to make his impact on the show pen not only as a competitor but as a sire, and now he will continue that impact to a brand new group of competitors,” said Jay Winborn, NCHA executive director. “It takes years of dedication to qualify for the World Finals, and we are thrilled to have Dual Smart Rey’s support as we celebrate our weekend competitors who have qualified this year.”
Don and Marty have passed the reins on to the next generation of Hortons, Michelle and Reagan (Ray Shell Ranch), to continue their legacy. Strawn Valley Ranch is celebrating its 25th year in the NCHA, and in honor of this milestone, Dual Smart Rey and Strawn Valley Ranch are proud to be the title sponsor of the 2022 NCHA World Finals.
