A well-known figure in the cutting community, James Arthur Jackson, Jr., 66, of Greenwood, Mississippi, passed away on September 9, 2022.

Services for James Arthur Jackson, Jr. will be held Tuesday, September 13, 2022, 2:00 PM at Williams & Lord Funeral Home in Greenwood, MS.

Mr. Jackson, age 66, died on Friday, September 9, 2022, at his residence.

He was born on October 30, 1955, in Greenwood, MS, to James Arthur Jackson, Sr. and Lenna Ingram Jackson. He resided in Carroll County most of his life and was a member of McCarley Baptist Church.  He was a cutting horse judge since 1986 for the National Cutting Horse Association. He had the most judging credits of any judge in NCHA history. He judged every major event in the USA, Italy, Canada, and Australia. He enjoyed squirrel hunting and riding horses. He is preceded in death by his father.   

He is survived by his sons, Scott (Rhonda) Jackson of Isola, MS, and Bart (Kaci) Jackson of Crawford, MS;  mother, Lenna Jackson of Greenwood, MS;  fiancé, Lee Ann Bates of Plevna, KS;  sisters, Debbie Milligan of Trenton, TN, and Pam Zwerschke of Courtland, MS; and three grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 13, 2022, 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Rev. Jeff Easterling will officiate the services. Pallbearers will be Todd Holder, Ty Holder, Chanley Ladner, K.J. Pletcher, Matthew Streater, and Bobby Kitchens. Honorary Pallbearers will be Wayne Alford and Mike Bruce. The burial will be in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery.
