NCHA ANNOUNCES EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE ELECTION RESULTS

The National Cutting Horse Association (NCHA) announces the results from the elections for the four open positions to fill the NCHA Executive Committee.

Representing Region 4, John P. Lavelle from Athens, Ohio, has been an NCHA member for 10 years. Lavelle’s goal in serving as the Region 4 representative on the executive committee is to foster the continued growth of the NCHA and help existing NCHA members to have the best experience possible within the organization.

“NCHA is a great organization,” Lavell said. “Membership will grow if new members have good venues to learn, have support, and have fun. I would like to work to help ensure this happens.”

Sharon Overstreet of Kenansville, Florida, has been an NCHA member for 38 years and will continue to represent Region 5.

“The NCHA represents a family of horse lovers that celebrate our wins and are there for each other when unfortunate circumstances fall on our members. It is a great compilation of very diverse personalities and backgrounds,” Overstreet said. “I am proud to be a part of that.”

Elected to represent Region 8 is Kathleen Moore of Madill, Oklahoma.  Moore has been an NCHA member for 22 years. Moore plans to represent the directors in her region by striving to listen to the members and bringing the necessary information before the Executive Committee for further consideration so that all have the opportunity to be heard.

“I want to actively participate in the growth and stability of this organization about which I care deeply,” said Moore.

Filling the At Large position is Cara Brewer. Hailing from Jay, Oklahoma, Brewer has been an NCHA member for 33 years. Brewer’s vision for helping sustain and grow NCHA membership is to establish more excitement for the animal athletes.

“Our animal athletes help make the NCHA special and stand out from other associations,” said Brewer. “We need to help gain more exposure to the NCHA through digital marketing and broadcast exposure. I believe this kind of exposure will help our industry grow and become the best it can be.”
