Dolores “Dee Dee” Bridges of Kentwood, Louisiana, passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at Merit Health Biloxi in Biloxi, Mississippi. She was born August 11, 1946, in Crowley, Louisiana, and was 75 years of age. Dee Dee attended her first NCHA Futurity in 1975 on a date with her future husband James Bridges. They married at the Tarrant County courthouse on December 7, 1976, the following year.  Dee Dee and James have not missed attending the NCHA Futurity in 47 years. They passed on their love of cutting to their daughter Darline Trahan who was the Youth World Reserve Champion in 1981. Dee Dee is survived by her husband of 46 years, James Bridges; daughter, Darline Trahan (Sheldon Blades), 3 sons, Robert James Bridges, Troy A. Trahan (Sonya), and Wesley P. Trahan, Jr.; 11 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Gerald Broussard and Lonnie Broussard; 2 sisters, Erlene Clouse (Mike) and Gretchen Dupuis (Ralph). Preceded in death by her parents, Wilbert and Willie Mae Broussard; 2 brothers, Calvin Broussard and Terry Benton. Visitation at McKneely Funeral Home, Kentwood, from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Sunday and from 9:00 AM until religious services at 11:00AM on Monday, May 16, 2022. Interment Woodland Cemetery, Kentwood, Louisiana. Services conducted by Dr. Danny R. Smith. Donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
