Arbuckle 4YO Open Rollback

Versace On Da Floor and Cooper win the 4YO Open Rollback with a 225

Lance Cooper and Versace On Da Floor swept up the Arbuckle Mountain 4-Year-Old Open Roll Back

With a score of 225 points from a field of 20 finalists, Lance Cooper and Im Countin Checks daughter Versace On Da Floor LTE $6,009 won the 4-Year-Old Open $200,000 Roll Back and $5,000. Cass Tatum and Cardi Bay LTE $19,577, by One Time Royalty, scored 221.5 points to claim reserve and earn $4,000, while Russ Elrod and Prince Of Cat LTE $905, by Smooth As A Cat, placed third with 220 points to earn $3,128.

Lance Cooper, the NCHA earner of $291,990, won last year’s Arbuckle Mountain 4-Year-Old Non-Pro Futurity co-championship on Wiskeemakesmefriskiee LTE $63,332, by Smooth As A Cat. He also won the 4-Year-Old Non-Pro and the Non-Pro Limited in 2018 with the High Brow CD daughter Zen And Tonic LTE $133,819, who he showed to win a total of 10 Non-Pro and/or Non-Pro Limited events.

Bred by Rose Valley Ranch and owned by Michael and Jennifer Cooper, Versace On Da Floor is out of the Smooth As A Cat daughter Holly Is Smooth LTE $225,782, the dam of earners of $357,004, including Hesa Money Maker LTE $105,432 and Yall Count Me In LTE $93,505, full siblings to Versace On Da Floor.

Cass Tatum, the NCHA earner of $123,519, placed third on Thursday, February 25, riding Speak Easie LTE $21,424 for Penny Wilson, Ardmore, Okla., in the Arbuckle Mountain 4-Year-Old Futurity. Cardi Bay is owned by Cass and his wife Chelsea, who showed the mare as a finalist in the NCHA Futurity Non-Pro and Non-Pro Limited. Bred by Kathleen Moore, Madill, Okla., Cardi Bay is out of the Halreycious daughter No Way In Hal LTE $135,092, who was an Arbuckle Mountain Open finalist in 2014 and 2015 under Lloyd Cox.

Russ Elrod, the NCHA earner of $971,686, rides Prince Of Cat for Rob Kuiper, Merritt, BC. Bred by Nancy Burkes, Hibbing, Minn., Prince Of Cat is out of the Dual Rey daughter Call Me Queen B LTE $100,207, the dam of Crown 57 LTE $39,939, by High Brow CD, in addition to Prince Of Cat. Call Me Queen B is out of a full sister to Thundercat LTE $302,762, among 27 money earners of over $1.5 million out of Desire Some Freckles LTE $188,990.

Russ Elrod was also a finalist on Friday in the 5/6 Open Rollback showing Metal Mike LTE $44,783, by Metallic Cat, for Rob Kuiper.

The Arbuckle Mountain Futurity continues through Sunday, February 28.
