2017 Ike Futurity Open champion Reyzurbetsonthiscat claims 2018 Ike Classic Open

Reyzurbetsonthiscat LTE $120,526, winner of the 2017 Ike 4-Year-Old Futurity Open under Craig Thompson, came back with 223 points to win 2018 Ike 5/6 Classic Open and $19,626 with Thompson on Tuesday. Matt Miller scored 219 and 217.5 points for reserve and third on Metallic Mistress LTE $149,366 and Amandas CD $260,493, who earned $16,698 and $13,770, respectively.

Owned by Barnwell Ramsey, Huntersville, NC, Reyzurbetsonthiscat, by Bet Hesa Cat, won the 2016 NCHA Futurity Amateur championship with Ramsey.  The 5-year-old gelding, out of Ariel Rey LTE $100,000, is a half-brother to Jay Moss Cougar LTE $141,678 and Melodys Pepto LTE $135,369.

Metallic Mistress, sired by Metallic Cat and owned by Holy Cow Performance Horses, Weatherford, Tex., is a full sister to Mistresssis LTE $165,625, out of 2006 NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity Open champion Smart Crackin Chic LTE $191,375.

Amandas CD, owned by Chris and Tracy Brengard, Paragould, Ark. and sired by High Brow CD, is a full sister to Sweet Lil Amanda LTE $264,896, out of Amanda Stargun LTE $91,468, the producer of earners of nearly $1 million.

In addition to the 5/6 Classic win on Reyzurbetsonthiscat , Thompson was also a 5/6 Classic finalist and placed first in the 5/6 Novice for Ramsey on Bet Sheza Marka LTE $12,578, who was a 2017 Ike 4-Year-Old Futurity finalist. Two weeks ago, Ramsey showed Bet Sheza Marka, by Bet Hesa Cat, as reserve champion of the Augusta Futurity 5/6 Unlimited Amateur.

Matt Miller showed three horses in both the Ike Futurity and the 5/6 Classic finals. In addition to reserve champion Metallic Mistress and third-placed Amandas CD, he showed Lou Lou Louise, owned by Lannie Mecom, as a Classic 5/6 finalist. Miller was also a finalist in the 4-Year-Old Futurity on his own horse, Carolena Reyn LTE $11,393, as well as on Graces CD LTE $34,009, owned by Janice Eaton, and on Mister Metallic LTE $2,000, a full brother to 5/6 reserve champion Metallic Mistress, owned by Holy Cow Performance Horses. Craig Thompson was a 4-Year-Old Futurity finalist riding Metallic Royal Mate LTE $2,000, owned by Nail Ranch.
