All Spice and Banuelos marked a 222 in the 4-year-old Open 1st-go

NCHA Futurity champ prevails on Sunday

All Spice LTE $304,315, the 2020 NCHA Futurity champion, shown by Adan Banuelos for the Holmes and Hill Partnership,  scored 222 points in the NCHA Kit Kat Sugar Super Stakes Open first go-round, on Sunday March 28. The Once In A Blu Boon daughter‘s score is the second highest  following three days of go-round competition, and ties that of Reyzin Amanda LTE $17,037, shown by RL Chartier for Chris Brengard, and Gingersnaps LTE $59,387, shown by Morgan Cromer for 7R Ranch LLC.

With one more day of 4-Year-Old first go-round competition left, Megician LTE $3,046, shown by Zeb Corvin for Stella Swanson,is the go-round leader. The Metallic Cat colt scored 223 points on Saturday.

NCHA Futurity champion All Spice is a full sister to Badboonarising LTE $320,472, who was shown by Adan Banuelos as reserve champion of the 2018 NCHA Futurity. Out of the High Brow Cat daughter Show Biz Kitty, All Spice and Badboonarising are also half-siblings to Rollz Royce LTE $348,383, by Dual Smart Rey, and SS Blacks Lil Kitty LTE $187,137, by Blue Bayou Boon.

Once In A Blu Boon, the sire of All Spice, ranks second, to date, unofficially, among sires of 2021 performers with earners $388,917. Metallic Cat with $1,276,398 tops the 2021 list.

All Spice ranks second among this year’s 4-year-old money earners with $57,435, with the Cattlemen’s Derby championship win and reserve in the Ike Hamilton Derby. Smart Lookin Sannman, shown by Christian Miller for Ted and Nancy Turner, is 2021’s leading 4-year-old money with $71,466. The Sannman-sired gelding won the 2021 Abilene Spectacular, placed third in the Cattlemen’s Derby, and won additional divisions in both events.

The 4-Year-Old Open second go-round continues through Tuesday, March 30; the 2021 NCHA Kit Kat Sugar Super Stakes continues through Saturday, April 17.
