NATIONAL CUTTING HORSE ASSOCIATION ANNOUNCES CO-SANCTIONED EVENT WITH UNITED STATES CUTTING HORSE ASSOCIATION

The National Cutting Horse Association (NCHA) is proud to announce Cutters in Cowtown, a co-sanctioned event with the United States Cutting Horse Association (USCHA), to be held November 21-22, 2020 in Fort Worth, Texas in conjunction with the 2020 NCHA North Texas Chevy Dealers World Championship Futurity presented by Great American Insurance.

“NCHA is excited to team up with USCHA to host this event,” Jay Winborn, NCHA executive director, said. “We all share a love of cutting and working together for this event is a great way to continue to grow our industry and promote the sport of cutting.”

There are eight classes in both NCHA and USCHA competition with similar eligibility requirements, allowing for NCHA and USCHA members to compete in one or both classes. The competition will be double judged, wherein two judges, one NCHA judge and one USCHA judge, independently score each entry. While the event is double judged, the payouts will remain separate.

The eight recognized classes will include Open, Non-Pro, Youth, $5,000 Novice Horse, $5,000 Novice/Non-Pro, $35,000 Non-Pro, $2,000 Limit Rider and $50,000 Amateur/Non-Pro. An additional two unapproved classes will also be offered: Select Limit Amateur/Non-Pro and Limit Rider Ranch Cutting.

“The USCHA is proud to continue its growth and support of the weekend sector of the cutting horse industry by joining forces with the NCHA to co-sanction a premier weekend event at the NCHA World Championship Futurity,” Chris Fairbanks USCHA administrator, said.  “This show of solidarity by both associations will be a big win for the contestants. Simply put, it’s a great opportunity for cutters to ride for more titles, more money and more awards all at one event!”

Show management, including entries, will be handled by Western Sports Production Associates (WSPA). WSPA will abide by rules and regulations of both associations, using certified secretaries and dual carded judges. Entries are now being accepted and will close Monday, November 16th.
