Weekly Update #10

Jun 8, 2020, 10:54 AM by Jay Winborn
Weekly update from NCHA Executive Director Jay Winborn

Good Morning NCHA,

I wanted to share with each of you how disappointed I am that NCHA had to cancel the 2020 Transwest Western National Championships presented by 6666 Ranches scheduled for the end of the month in Denver. NCHA’s number one priority is the health and personal safety of its members, and we felt it was in the best interest of the membership to cancel the show. I want to reassure that the competitors can expect a full refund by Thursday, June 25.

As our association is continuing to move forward, we have already begun preparations for the 2020 Metallic Cat NCHA Summer Cutting Spectacular. We have been working with the Will Rogers Memorial Complex on new protocols that will be in place to ensure the health and safety of our members and fans. NCHA will be adhering to the social distancing guidelines and recommending that attendees wear a mask when they are not horseback.

I would like to say a special thank you to our friends at Metallic Cat, Santa Cruz Animal Health and Symbiont for providing NCHA with masks and hand sanitizer for our attendees.

NCHA understands the unique situation our industry is being faced with as we begin to emerge from the COVID-19 pandemic. In an effort to accommodate our members during this time, NCHA has extended the deadline for the 2020 Metallic Cat NCHA Summer Cutting Spectacular to Wednesday, June 10 at midnight CST.

Please understand this extension comes during an unprecedented time for our industry, and moving forward, NCHA intends to adhere to the entry deadlines in place for our produced events.

We are looking forward to an exciting and successful 2020 Metallic Cat NCHA Summer Cutting Spectacular and we can’t wait to see everyone in Fort Worth next month.

Best to you,

Jay Winborn

NCHA Executive Director
