The Mary Kingsbury Amateur Sportsmanship Award is presented to an amateur who is:

Dedicated to the sport of cutting
In good standing in the Association
Exhibits good sportsmanship, fairness a high moral character
Has made extraordinary contributions to the sport of cutting, the horse and the association through their contribution of time, effort and interest in the NCHA and its basic endeavors
