The National Cutting Horse Association Stallion & Foal Program promotes cutting horse sires and offspring, while simultaneously generating added money for the Super Stakes & Super Stakes Classic. The current program, established in 2011, operates on a bifurcated approach whereby stallion owners subscribe their stallions annually, and foal owners nominate their foals, making them eligible to compete in the Super Stakes during their 4, 5, and 6-year-old years. The program has been wildly successful and has almost 15,000 nominated foals to date.
Fifteen percent of the Foal Nomination funds are used for foal nominator awards. Starting in 2017, fifteen percent of the Stallion Subscription funds will be used for sire awards. These awards are split equally between Open,
