Cooper and Fenimore reign as Arbuckle Mountain Non-Pro Champions

Lance Cooper, Weatherford, Tex., claimed his sixth 2018 championship with a 222-point win in the Arbuckle Mountain 4-Year-Old Futurity on Zen And Tonic LTE 78,784, by High Brow CD. Chad Bushaw, also from Weatherford, placed second with 217 points, and also won the Non-Pro Novice division, aboard Snappcat LTE $26,987, by High Brow Cat; while Ashley Galyean, Forth Worth, Tex., was third with 215 points, and second in the Non-Pro Novice , riding Desiresomemettalic LTE $38,280, by Metallic Cat.

Seventeen-year-old Cooper and Zen And Tonic came into 2018 with $30,532 earned as 2017 NCHA Futurity Limited Non-Pro champion and NCHA Futurity Non-Pro finalist. In addition to Arbuckle Mountain Non-Pro and Limited Non-Pro wins, the pair won the Abilene Spectacular 4-Year-Old Non-Pro and Limited Non-Pro; claimed reserve in the Bonanza Non-Pro, as well as first in the Limited Non-Pro; and placed fifth in the Ike Hamilton Non-Pro Futurity.

Cooper, the lifetime earner of $124,513, won the 2017 NCHA Senior Youth World Finals on Light N Lily by Light N Lena LTE $281,078, and earned his first major limited event money at 13, as a finalist in the 2014 NCHA Futurity Non-Pro, and reserve in the Limited Non-Pro., riding Post Card From Paris, by Light N Lena.

Chad Bushaw, an NCHA Non-Pro Hall of Fame member, is the lifetime earner of over $3.3 million; Ashley Galyean in the earner of $387,824.

Arbuckle Mountain 5/6 Non-Pro Classic

Riding Reymaniscent LTE $58,396, by Dual Smart Rey, Laura Fenimore, Lexington, Okla., scored 221 points to win the title of Arbuckle Mountain 5/6 Non-Pro Classic champion. Jessica Feiner, Aspen, Colo., scored 219 points for reserve, as well as champion of the Limited Non-Pro and Non-Pro Gelding divisions, on B Nimble LTE $68,424, also by Dual Smart Rey; while Bonnie Martin, Las Vegas, Nev., placed third and won the Non-Pro Senior, as well as reserve in the Non-Pro Gelding on Reysin Kittens LTE $114,428, by Dual Rey.

This was the first win of the year for 6-year-old Reymaniscent, who carried Fenimore, her breeder, to place fifth in the 2015 NCHA Futurity Non-Pro Finals, as well as second in the NCHA Futurity Non-Pro Limited. The pair also won the 2016 Southern Futurity Unlimited Amateur.

Fenimore, the lifetime earner of $247,571, won the 2010 NCHA Futurity Amateur championship on Misplaced Cat, by WR This Cats Smart, and was reserve champion of the 2014 Breeders Invitational, as well as reserve in the Non-Pro Limited, on Mr Quenique, by Quejanaisalena.

Jessica Finer is the lifetime earner of $178,509; Bonnie Martin, an NCHA Non-Pro Hall of Fame member, is the lifetime earner $866,707.
