Brett McGlothlin, the NCHA earner of $336,003, has shown Somethingtobelievein as an Open finalist in the Augusta Futurity and the Cattlemen’s Derby, as well as a Limited Open finalist in the NCHA Super Stakes.

Somethingtobelievein, by Hydrive Cat, made her career debut as the 2016 NCHA Futurity Limited Non-Pro champion under Brett’s wife, Jody, who also showed the mare as reserve champion of the Augusta Futurity Non-Pro. The pair were also finalists in the NCHA Super Stakes Non-Pro and Non-Pro Limited, as well as finalists in the Cattlemen’s Derby Non-Pro.somethingtobelievein

Brett McGlothin and Somethingtobelievein, with 439 points, are among the top qualifiers for Saturday’s Open Semi-Finals. Jody and Somethingtobelievein also qualified for the Limited Non-Pro Finals, and as Non-Pro second go-round contenders.

Kody Porterfield, the NCHA earner of $154,260, won the 2015 NCHA Futurity Limited Open on This Isa Third LTE $133,223 and also placed third with the gelding in the Futurity Open Finals. Porterfield also won the 2017 Abilene Spectacular Limited Open on Hey Mr Buddy Boy and placed as reserve champion on Fantastic One.

Santallico Cat, by Metallic Cat, was bred by Greg Coalson, a leading contender on Juana Bet, by Bet Hesa Cat, for Thursday’s NCHA Derby Non-Pro second go-round. Both Santallico Cat and Juana Bet are descended on their dams’ side from Quejanamia, the dam of Coalson-bred and shown Quejanaisalena LTE $329,571 and Quejanapep $329,571.
