Competition in the first go-round of the Lucas Oil NCHA Super Stakes Open concluded Friday. After three days of competition, 173 horses with scores of 212 or higher will advance to Saturday’s second go-round. Topping Friday’s action were 15 horses with scores of 218 points or higher, including the go-round winner Mistresssis (click here for high-scoring horses from Wednesday and Thursday):

223 – MISTRESSSIS LTE $124,111, by Metallic Cat
Shown by Grant Setnicka for Texas Holy Cow Performance Horses, Weatherford, Tex. Mistresssis and Setnicka placed fourth in the NCHA Futurity and also as finalists in the Arbuckle Mountain Open. Setnicka, an NCHA Hall of Fame Rider, showed Ichis My Choice, By Cat Ichi, as reserve champion of the 2016 NCHA Super Stakes.

Shown by Hall of Fame Rider Kory Pounds. Xavier Rodriquez showed Cats To Smart on Tuesday, as a Super Stakes Amateur finalist, and T.J. Good rode the mare as a finalist in the Abilene Spectacular.

220.5 – PHAROAH AND JAMES LTE $36,031, by Hickorys Indian Pep
Shown by Clint Allen for David and Stacie McDavid, Fort Worth, Tex. Allen placed third with Pharoah And James  in the Bonanza Open and earned money on him as an open finalist in three divisions of the Ike Hamilton Futurity.

219.5 – GAME ON SMOOTH LTE $53,399, by Smooth As A Cat
Shown by T.J. Good for Mike and Debbie Schraeder, Tomball, Tex. Mike Schraeder showed Game On Smooth as an NCHA Futurity Non-Pro Limited finalist and placed second in the Arbuckle Mountain Non-Pro Limited. Good won the Arbuckle Mountain Open championship on the gelding, as well as the Open Gelding and Novice divisions of that show.

219 – HELLO CITY LTE $7,169, by Smooth As A Cat
Shown by John Mitchell for Glade Knight, Weatherford, Tex. Hello City, out of Play Miss $180,165, is half-brother to Flash About $235,167, by Purdy Boy Flash. Nelson Knight showed Hello City as a semi-finalist in the NCHA Futurity Non-Pro and Mitchell showed the gelding as a finalist in the Arbuckle Mountain Open.

219 – PEEPABOO LTE $23,019, by Docs Stylish Oak
Shown by Matt Gaines for Alexa Stent, Aledo, Tex, breeder of Peepaboo, as well as of the mare’s dam, Little Bow Peepto LTE $134,559. Gaines showed Peepaboo as an NCHA Futurity semi-finalist, as well as a finalist in the Ike Hamilton Open, where they placed second in the Novice division.

219 – JOHNNY ENGLISH LTE $18,620, by Metallic Cat
Shown by Rowdy Larson for Mike Meagher, Antonita, Colo. Johnny English and Larson placed fourth in the Cattlemen’s Derby Open and won the Open Limited championship.

219 – HOT REVOLVER LTE $8,989, by Spots Hot
Shown by James Payne for Kathleen Moore, Madill, Okla. Hot Revolver and James Payne competed as Open finalists in the Abilene Spectacular and the Arbuckle Mountain Derby.

Shown by Rowdy Larson for The Over Forty Ranch, Wichita Falls, Tex. Larson has shown Metallic Ina as a finalist in the Bonanza and the Arbuckle Mountain Open.

218.5 – FED EXX LTE $28,331, by Spots Hot
Shown by Wesley Galyean for Claire Binkowski, Weatherford, Tex. Fed Exx was an NCHA Futurity Non-Pro finalist with Kristen Galyean and has earned money in the Open finals of three 2017 events.

218.5 – THIRD LUCINDA LTE $11,160, by Third Cutting
Shown by J.B. McLamb for Jimmie Miller Smith, Geary, Okla. Third Lucinda has been an Unlimited Amateur finalist this year with Miller’s son, Wade Smith, in the Arbuckle Mountain Derby and the Bonanza.

218 – SIR LONG LEGS LTE $206,080, by High Brow Cat
Shown by Austin Shepard for Lew Hall, Highland City, Fla. Sir Longs Legs was the NCHA Futurity Open reserve champion under Shepard and also placed ninth with Shepard in the Augusta Futurity and the Ike Hamilton Futurity.

218 – CRAFTY WITH COWS LTE $166,386, by High Brow CD
Shown by R.L. Chartier for Carol Ward, Rancho Murieta, CA. Crafty With Cows and Chartier placed third in the NCHA Futurity, as well as in the Bonanza. They were finalists in the Abilene Spectacular and placed second in the Open Gelding division.

218 – HASHTAGS LTE $81,390, by Metallic Cat
Shown by Tatum Rice for Jose Raul Garcia, Caracas, Venezuela. Hashtags and Rice placed eight in the NCHA Futurity and also placed in the Cattlemen’s Derby finals.

218 – COPPERISH  LTE $60,648, by Metallic Cat
Shown by Lloyd Cox for Jimmie Miller Smith, Geary, Okla. Copperish, with Cox in the saddle, has competed in the finals of five major events in 2017 and won the championship in two of them – the Bonanza Cutting and the Cattlemen’s Derby. Copperish is out of Stylish Play Lena LTE $264,474, also shown by Cox. Stylish Play Lena is a leading producer whose 18 NCHA money earners have earned more than $1.5 million, including Horse of the Year Smooth Talkin Style.
