2002 NYCHA Hall of Fame Inductees

Luke Bouget
is the son of Bob and Gayle Bouget of Church Point, Louisiana. During his 12 years as an NCHA member, Luke has made his way into the Top Fifteen Youth World Standings three times, including the Senior Youth World Champion title in 1999. Along the way, he also accumulated two Youth Champion titles at the Eastern National Championships in Jackson, Mississippi, and earned a spot in the Area 14 Top Ten Youth for seven years. He has earned the Bronze LEAP award and served as an NYCHA Area 14 Director.

Jill Farmer
is the daughter of Rick Farmer and Wendy Crumbley. Although Jill has only been active in NYCHA a short time, she recently achieved the Platinum level of LEAP by participating in every youth activity possible and volunteering to help out whenever needed. In the cutting arena, Jill cut a path to the Youth World Champion standings two years in a row and claimed a Reserve Champion Senior Youth World title in 2000. She is currently attending the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and was recently awarded a NYCHA/Walton Family Foundation Scholarship. When she’s not studying, Jill still competes in the $10,000 Amateur class.

Jordan Snider
is the daughter of Larry and Pat Snider of Weldona, Colorado. She first joined NYCHA in 1992 and was ranked in the Area 5 Top Ten Youth from 1994 through 2000. Her most memorable cutting accomplishment was winning the 1997 Junior Youth Championship at the Western National Championships in Ogden, Utah. During Jordan’s nine years as a youth member, she accumulated enough LEAP points to earn a Gold LEAP award. She served as an Area 5 Youth Director for five years. She is currently a junior at Colorado State University majoring in Ag Business. Jordan retired her favorite horse, Sabrinas San Pep but still competes on her four-year-old whenever possible.

Nikki Sokol
is the daughter of Ted and Kathy Sokol, of New Smyrna Beach, Florida. She has ranked in the Area 16 Top Ten Youth every year since 1993, been a youth finalist at the Eastern National Championships six times, including a two-time Reserve Champion finish and finished in the Senior Youth Top Fifteen the last two years. Nikki served as the NYCHA President, Secretary and Reporter as well as an Area 16 Youth Director. She has earned the Platinum LEAP award and an NYCHA/Walton Family Foundation Scholarship. She currently attends Daytona Beach Community College and plans to transfer to Tarleton State University next year.

Susan Welch
is the daughter of Troy and Kathy Welch of Fort Worth, Texas. Her cutting accomplishments include being named 2000 Senior Youth Champion and 1996 Senior Youth Reserve Champion at the Summer Scholarship Cutting; 1997 National High School Rodeo Association Girl’s Cutting National Champion; 2000 Senior Youth Top Ten and 1999 Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo Youth Reserve Champion. Her most memorable accomplishment is marking a 78 in the youth class at the 2000 NCHA Weekend. Susan is currently attending Texas A&M and has been a member of both the equestrian team and the horse judging team. She has been an NCHA member since 1988 and earned the Silver LEAP award.

Mandy Williams
is the 20-year-old daughter of Steve and Shelly Williams of Granstville, Utah. She has been an NCHA member since 1995 and earned a position in the Area 3 Top Ten youth from 1996 through 2001 including two Champion and one Reserve Champion titles. She has been a consistent cutter at the Western National Championships where she’s made the youth finals four times and earned both the Champion and Reserve Champion Senior Youth titles. During the past seven years, Mandy has earned enough points to receive the Gold LEAP award. She has been an Area 3 Youth Director for two years and received the Whitney Welch Memorial Sportsmanship Award in 2001. She is currently attending Utah State University where she’s majoring in business marketing.
