Vice Presidential Candidates
Brady Bowen of Jacksboro (left), Texas, and Keith Deaville (right) of Covington, Louisiana, are candidates for the office of NCHA Vice President in an election by the membership to take place in May/June 2009.

Ballots will be mailed to NCHA members by May 7, 2009, and ballots must be received back in the NCHA office (to be tabulated under the supervision of an independent accounting firm) by June 11, 2009. The successful candidate will take office at the 2009 NCHA Convention in Denver.

World Series heads for Calgary
After a tremendous kick-off at the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo, the 6666 Ranch NCHA World Series of Cutting moves to this summer's Calgary Stampede for its next stop.


Director Elections Completed
Voting has been tabulated (under the supervision of an independent accounting firm) for the 2009 NCHA Director elections. Newly elected directors will take office on June 19, 2009, at the start of the NCHA Convention in Denver, Colorado. You can see the list of current directors and the slate of incoming directors.


NCHA welcomes Southwest Ford as new sponsor: SouthWest Ford has signed on as the "The Official Automotive Dealership of the NCHA Triple Crown Events" which includes the Super Stakes in April, the Summer Cutting Spectacular in July/August and the World Championship Futurity in November/December. Collectively, the NCHA Triple Crown events consist of 67 days of activity with over $10 million in total prize money awarded to contestants.

Million Dollar Bonus: The McDavid family has announced a $1 million bonus to any horse sired by Hes A Peptospoonful that wins the NCHA Open Futurity from 2009 through 2013. The McDavids, who sponsor the live telecast of the NCHA Futurity on RFD-TV, are also offering a sizable bonus to Non-Pro, Limited Non-Pro and Amateur winners sired by Hes A Peptospoonful or Widows Freckles at all three of NCHA's Triple Crown events.
